Argus uses BGE-M3 embeddings and Qdrant vector search for hybrid dense+sparse retrieval. Documents are processed with legal-structure-aware chunking that preserves article boundaries, recital references, and cross-regulation links. The system implements bitemporal versioning to track both the legal effective date and the ingestion date of every provision.
